I picked upward a set up of used XTR M970 crank arms used but in fine condition. The price was right for me and I thought that information technology would be cool to change their advent.

Anybody have any ideas of what I could do with them? My thoughts have been that the simplest modify would exist to buff out the already shiny part thus removing the "XTR" logo. If I get into taking off the flat grey areas it turns into a fairly major project.

How about blasting them with soda or sand and then perhaps powdercoating? Could they be powdercoated without this prep?

Thanks!

Non certain if you'll be able to considering the one piece design of the bulldoze side only have you looked into anodising? It'll be lighter than powdercoating and you can go with a custom colour to match your bike.

Either mode no matter what you do i'd have them fine bead blasted first as it'll improve the end end.

the ceramic adds next to nothing, my Avid BB7s just gained 1g for the set frt and rear when I had them coated by Shawnee, or he can polish them as well

I wish they were mine, dipped in caustic soda for a few mins to remove the ano the polished within an inch of their life.

I take the same cranks that are in really great status but accept been rubbed out by clipless gear! I'd love to exercise this to my cranks myself, after seeing this post I'k having the LBS masterminds of refreshing gear do it, they only charged $thirty which is good but I own my ain online business organization! Specializing in the sale of high end cross country race bikes and parts.

Anything other than caustic soda I could use? Also what kind of polish exercise I need to utilise?
